This is a diecast model of 1938 Ahrens Fox VC Fire Truck. It features rubber tires, steerable wheels as well as doors and engine hood that opens. Interior, exterior and engine are very detailed. Approximate dimensions are 10.5 inches long by 4 inches wide by 4 inches high.
Ahrens-Fox Fire Engine Company was fire truck manufacturer founded in 1910. It was well known for its fire apparatus high quality, power and durability. Before world war 2 it was one of two leading fire apparatus manufacturers. Unfortunately it was deeply affected by Great Depression (1929 – 1933) and never fully recovered.
Company existed for 67 years until 1977 when it ceased operation although fire apparatus manufacturing ended in 1956. Today HME, Incorporated (Hendrickson Mobile Equipment) produces fire apparatus that carry model name designation HME Ahrens-Fox.
