This is a diecast car model/toy of first generation Audi Q7 made by Welly. It features detailed interior, exterior and engine bay. It also has steerable wheels with rubber tires. This Audi Q7 diecast model is of 1:24 scale and measures approximately 7.5” long by 3” wide by 2.5” high.
Audi Q7 Typ 4L History
First generation Audi Q7 was unveiled in 2006 at Frankfurt Motor Show. It was designed by Satoshi Wada and was produced for 9 years before it was replaced by second generation model.
Audi Q7 Typ 4L was based on PL71 platform just like first generation Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg.
When Audi Q7 Typ 4L went for sale it initially was only available with 3.0 TDI engine that output 233 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. In the following year (2007) the engine was tweaked and saw a boost in power of 7 horsepower and 50 Nm of torque.
In that same year 3 more engine options became available: 4.2 TDI (326 hp & 760 Nm) and two gasoline engines: 3.6 FSI (280 hp & 360 Nm) and 4.2 FSI (350 hp & 440 Nm).
However the engine that Audi Q7 4L is best remembered for was introduced in 2008 model year – the Legendary 6.0 TDI CCGA is a V12 diesel that outputs 500 horsepower and unbelievable for the time 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. First generation Audi Q7 is the only production car in history to feature a V12 diesel engine.
Audi Q7 V12 TDi accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in as fast as 3.9 seconds. To put things in perspective a Ferrari F430 made that same year did it in 3.8 seconds. Granted Audi can put use more power without losing traction due to all wheel drive (Ferrari is rear wheel drive) but still, that’s very, very impressive.
